FTL vs. LTL: What’s the Difference and Which One Do You Need?

When arranging freight transport across borders, you’ll often hear the terms FTL and LTL. But what do they mean – and how do you know which one is right for your shipment?

FTL (Full Truck Load) means your goods take up the entire truck. This is ideal for:

  • Large shipments
  • Time-sensitive deliveries
  • Fragile goods requiring minimal handling

LTL (Less Than Truck Load) is when your goods share space with other shipments. It’s a smart solution when:

  • You have a smaller volume
  • You want to reduce transport costs
  • Delivery speed is less urgent

Which should you choose?

If you need control, speed, or extra protection – FTL is your best bet. If you want a budget-friendly option and are flexible on timing, LTL is perfect.

Still unsure? Our team can advise you based on your cargo, timeline and budget.
